Cahaya's Gems ~ Birth Video 27.06.10
I Showed CR her birth video & she was amazed.When she saw herself crying in d incubator, she was like "awww Cahaya don't cry!" And I asked her why was she crying & she said, "Maybe cos I had a broken heart". I said "huh?" and CR says, "Can't u see the plaster on my heart Mummy??" Lo and behold, it was the plaster that ta...ped down the heart rate gadget! Outta the mouth of babes!!

Trying to be rude and pointing her finger at someone this morning, CR was advised not to do it. The answer from her was... "It's a HAPPY POINT okay Mummy? A HAPPY POINT!!"

Tonight Cahaya said to me at bedtime, "Mummy~ T-Rex has a friend you know." I said really? She says, "Yes her name is Cahaya-Rex!" :-)

At d zoo,a boy sittin on end of tram dropped a shoe.Tram didn't stop, so CR picked up the shoe n ran after the tram, shouting, "Boy! U dropped yr shoe!". When tram finally stopped, boy took shoe, n shouted from tram, "TQ!", she shouts back, " YOU WEWWCOME!" laughter all round it was so cute.

I told CR, "I love you very much!". CR replied, "I love you too Mummy". I said, "oh do u know it makes me so happy when u say that!". CR replies, "Yes but I keep telling you NOT to put me in the thinking chair so much!" ( with her *wicked* smile!!!)

Tonight at bedtime, in the dark, as i tried to escape Cahaya's clutches, she told me, "Mummy, don't go ( and i thought.. oh no.. not AGAIN!) Mummy, hold my hands, PRAY with me before you go!" . And so, we prayed. Thanking God for the beautiful day we had, all our great family & friends, our wonderful life, our crazy pets and "my new BARBIE dvd's God!" :-) she's so funny!!

This afternoon CR told Risa and I ~ " Mummy, Daddy is a King, I am a King and you and Risa are Mice!" ... Gawddarramit... she is so spot on its' not even funny!

Mummy's Musings - More Linguistic Skills!! 25th Jan 2010
Today was a day of a linguistic EXPLOSION!
In the school carpark, she said she wanted to see the drivers in the 'driver's room'. She told me she wanted to tell them "Selamat Pagi!" So we went to the room and lo and behold she said so loudly and surely, " SELAMAT PAGI PAK-CHICKS!!"
Midway during school I took her out and We went to the Orthopaedic Surgeon to check on Cahaya's foot. She was very excited to see him and kept asking what the Dr's name was. She pronounced it perfectly but VERY LOUDLY! " Hello DR GOBINDER!!!" She very proudly announced to him, "My foot's NOT broken anymore. It's FIXED!".
When we got in the car, she very sweetly told me, "Thank you Mummy for taking me to see the Doctor. Thank you Mummy for my Check-Up!" awwwwww
Then she asked where were we going. I said back to school. Then Cahaya said, " I don't wanna go back to school Mummy! I wanna go to the ice cream shop to have my purple and pink" . I told her there was a party at school and we have to go back and she says, " VAMONOS!! Let's GO!!"
When we got home and were having a bath, she told me while I tried to brush hr teeth , " Mummy, don't hold my chin okay? and brush even soffer ( softer ) ok? Eeeeven soffer!"
These moments make me so happy and so sad at the same time. The inability to capture them on video and the knowing that this moment has passed, never to be repeated. Childhood is sooo short and it's so fleeting... Catch it while you can!

Mum's Musings - Linguistic Gems Jan '10
While trying to brush Cahaya's teeth and having a hard time getting her to cooperate, she shouts - "NO Mummy, let ME do it! Why do you want me to SUFFER??" :-)
While playing with our guppies, Cahaya hands me a net and says, "Mummy you get the alive one, I get the died one!" ( Ugh )
While helping me to prepare the dogs food, she asks me if she can try it. I kid around saying OK. And she takes a mouthful! Then she looks at me with horror and says " OH it's TOO yucky!"
After getting a telling off for something, ( who can even keep track anymore ) Cahaya puts her arms on her waist and says, "Mummy! Don't scold me! I'm too LITTLE!".
To Buffy the dog who is trying to get past Cahaya, she says, "Excuse me Buffy. Wait your turn okay? wait your turn! "
After pick up from school on Wednesday, she said, "Mummy, No more school okay? I wanna take the school, and THROW it!" So, i asked "Throw it where?" , Cahaya says, "To the Island!" so I asked, "which island?", and the answer was - " Barney's Imagination Island!!"
Driving by a green lung, Cahaya comments that , "It's a jungle Mummy". I say "yes it is darling". Cahaya says, "what's inside the jungle?". I say, "Monkeys and birds and snakes ..." Cahaya says, "Cahaya wanna go in it.", I say "OK". Cahaya says - "Mummy Cahaya get lost in the jungle, Cahaya so scared ( with mock fear and arms hugging herself too ) will Mummy come find me? Mummy come rescue me? " . I say "Of course Mummy will come look for you darling!" - and with this she appeared satisfied and ended the jungle subject. Phew.
